Great Software Bugs of History
This is the inaugural event in a probably sporadic series where we
discuss interesting bugs and how to exploit them. If you're interested
in security, software, Linux, or networking, don't miss.
Shellshock aka CVE-2014-6271 and friends
Bash is the default command shell for many Linux and Unix systems. In
2014, a cluster of similar vulnerabilities in bash allowed remote code
execution in a remarkably diverse number of situations. We'll talk
about how the shell works under normal circumstances, what the bug is,
and how to take advantage of it (with live demos).
The presenter is an Information Security industry veteran with 20
years' experience and Opinions about exploits.
