About us

Omaha for Public Lands is a community space for Nebraskans and public lands supporters who care about protecting America’s shared natural heritage, including National Monuments, wilderness, wildlife habitat, outdoor recreation, cultural sites, and public access.
Right now, our immediate focus is raising awareness and encouraging constituent outreach regarding the proposed Congressional Review Act (CRA) effort targeting Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument. Many believe this fast-tracked process could set a major national precedent for weakening public lands protections and overturning years of public input, tribal collaboration, and land management planning.
This group exists to help people:
• stay informed
• coordinate outreach to elected officials
• share advocacy actions and events
• organize meetings, tabling, and visibility efforts
• write Letters to the Editor (LTEs)
• support respectful, effective civic engagement
While Grand Staircase–Escalante is the current focus, this group supports the broader idea that America’s public lands belong to all Americans and deserve thoughtful stewardship for future generations.
All are welcome here who support respectful discussion and constructive action.
