OMG-NYC Outing to Governor's Island 2017

Come join us in this urban folding meeting, a couple of days before the annual Origami USA convention ( https://origamiusa.org/convention2017 ) begins. As a group, we understand that there is a lot of out of town visitors, who would arrive early, so this is one way of exploring the city from another perspective.

Time is flexible for people's arrival. So while this event begins at 11am, it is also dependent on people coming at any time the ferry docks at Governor island...at hourly intervals.

There is a $2 round trip ferry charge from Manhattan. It is a free ride back to Manhattan from Govenor's Island.

When you go to govisland.org ( http://govisland.org/ ) you can download a map of the island.

There are a couple of places around the island for tables, and picnic. In the past we have used tables around a field or next to art sculptures or a playground. The listed Liggett Terrace is a point of reference. We are on the island, so please look around, and not just assume we're not there, if we say we are.

Food is available via food trucks but feel free to bring your own lunch and drinks too.

Following this event on Govenor's Island, the group can get food together and make our way to Panera for OMG Thurs evening event and continue the folding adventures.
