Introduction: Celebrating our 10th season, join us on another overnight bike camping trip — just enough time to get away without burning through valuable vacation time! With 5 miles of hiking trails, showers, and a beach, you'll likely agree that Lake Kegonsa State Park is an excellent place for an overnight. On the route, we will explore multiple boardwalks, lakefronts, and nature areas on paved bike paths and scenic country roads.

Skill level: Beginner/Intermediate. This tour is an excellent first overnight bike camping trip, with ~50% trail use. Ample restrooms and water sources are along the route.
Pace: Party pace. We will have "checkpoints" for those who want to ride a little faster.
Length: 20± miles on day one, 30± miles on day two.
Terrain: Mostly paved road and trail. A few rolling hills.

A final route will be uploaded 2-5 days before the event to vet for trail conditions and closed roads.
Parking: Street parking on Charles Lane, north of the golf course.
Time: Arrival is 11:00 a.m., departure is 11:30 a.m.
Cost: $15-$25 for camping and optional firewood, pending attendance. Cash at the event is preferred.

Pre-ride tips: Organize and pack your gear several days in advance, tune up your bike if necessary, and take your packed bike for a short ride around the block. Does it feel balanced? These few steps will help you feel more confident on the morning of departure.

Riders must have signed an online yearly liability Waiver and Contact Form. Helmets, lights, proper nutrition, and hydration are all encouraged. A minimum of two 16 oz. bottles of water and two energy bars daily are good starting points. Participants should be prepared to ride the entire route at their own pace. Please inform the leader if you abandon the ride or deviate significantly from the intended course.
We will cancel at least two hours prior if there is bad weather. Please be courteous to the organizers by RSVPing only if you intend to attend and keep your RSVP current. We reserve the right to replace it with a similar event or cancel due to a lack of interest, current events, or poor trail or road conditions.
