Champlain Lookout (from Gatineau Park P3)

Hi All, at this point in the season we are ready for a serious challenge! Let's ride the Gatineau Park loop from parking lot P3 in Gatineau Park to Champlain Lookout (also taking in Huron Lookout and Étienne Brûlé Lookout along the way). After that, we’ll stop for a break at Roberto Pizza Romana in Chelsea before returning via Pink Lake.

P3 > Champlain Lookout > Roberto Pizza Romana > Pink Lake > P3

The ride is 45 km from start till end. The route is hilly, with a total elevation gain of 700 m, so be prepared for some challenging climbs and gorgeous scenery. Bring a light snack and water for the lookout. This is the path we will follow:

Meeting and parking: Meet at the P3 parking lot in Gatineau Park at 7:50 a.m. for an 8:00 a.m. departure sharp.
We need to start early because the parkways open to vehicles at 12:00 noon and it will be extremely busy for Fall Rhapsody. Our early departure will help us get through most of the ride before vehicle traffic begins.

Important:
* For the safety of everyone, bike helmets are strongly recommended.
* Please make sure your bike is safe working order, brakes functional, tires inflated, gears shifting, etc.
* Bring at least 2 bottles of water and a light snack for this ride.
* Arriving early will allow us to address any questions.
* The lead riders will wait at turns so that nobody gets lost. The average speed is typically 20 kph.
