Hope Lived Out

Suppose someone told you as a child that one day in the future you would be the greatest basketball player ever to play the game. Imagine the thrill of thinking, "One day I will be the next Michael Jordan. "Every day you would dream of what it would be like, making those last-second gaming-winning shots, winning the world championship, or averaging 50 or more points per game.

How do you think knowing this would affect your life today? Do you think it would cause you to sit on the couch and waste your life away? No. If you knew you would be the greatest basketball player, you would never want to leave the basketball court. You would enjoy playing the game as much as possible today, anticipating the day when you would be the greatest.

So, it is with the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. Knowing that one day we will be like Jesus and will be with Him forever does affect the way we live today. Let's take a look at Scripture and see how our hope expresses itself in our daily lives.
