Open data has quietly transformed the way we move around — from the apps we tap before leaving the house to the behind-the-scenes feeds that keep public transport ticking. It underpins a huge range of transport services we rely on every day, and with the Bus Services Act 2025 pushing more bus data into the open, there's never been a better moment to take stock of where we've got to — and where we still need to go.
We'll be looking at road transport too: open data on scheduled roadworks and live fuel prices has given drivers a fighting chance of making genuinely informed decisions about their journeys.
At this event we want to dig into the great things open transport data has made possible, hear some real examples of services and insights it's enabled, and have an honest conversation about the challenges that remain for people getting around.
