• What we'll do
An evening brought to you by XOX Labs exploring artists who deal with new sciences and technologies in rethinking contemporary knowledge. New media art, tech art, net art, video art, performance - the intersection of these work create a critical picture on technoscientific culture and practice. Taking place at the Open Science Network, Vancouver's lab for democratizing and revolutionizing science, the artists' work will be situated in a context that encourages a look at the epistemological aspect of art making and cultural engagement. Experiments, artifacts and what we learn from them. The Open Science Network is an organization dedicated to the rethinking the public and empirical aspect of institutional science practice, and in shifting that paradigm towards something more sustainable. XOX Labs is an ongoing research project by Erik Zepka creating situations and platforms for the reconceiving of applied art and science. The evening will consist in a series of lightning talks interspersed with time for conversation and reflection. Entrance is free of charge.

The lab is located in the Makerlabs building - we are upstairs - to the right at the top of the stairs.
