Open Lab Wed. - Plasmids, Vectors and Cloning. What???
Details
What is a plasmid? What is a vector? What are they for and how can you use them? There are many types of cloning vectors, but the most commonly used ones are engineered plasmids.
DNA ligation and plasmid transformation are incredibly versatile and routine procedures in biotechnology and academic labs. Come learn about this technology and where you can take it.
Scott's talk will lay the foundation for working with these tools in an upcoming Episode 4 workshop. Keep an eye out for that one.
Please RSVP so we know how many seats to put out.
Conceived in the spirit of the VHS's Open nights, Open Lab Wednesdays are an opportunity to learn something topical or bring whatever your working on, whatever ideas you have, to an informal meet'n'greet at our lab. If you would like to give a presentation to our group feel free to contact us (http://www.opensciencenet.org/contact-us/) with your topic.
There are no requirements for these meetups, just come yourself, meet anyone and everyone involved, learn about potential projects, propose your own, and see our lab as it has evolved until now!
