About us
This group organizes events around OpenMates - from meetups accessible for everyone regardless of tech experience, to workshops, hackathons and possibly more.
OpenMates gives everyone access to privacy & user interests focused AI team mates which can handle everyday tasks (like finding events, doctor appointments, train connections with prices and much more), help with building projects and learning. Making the useful aspects of AI accessible to a wide audience.
With the goal to built not just an open source alternative to big tech AI chatbots & agentic systems, but to built something better: a incredibly useful software that puts user interests first, with a better usability, privacy, safety, functionality than what you can expect from profit-at-all-costs big tech companies.
OpenMates is open to the public, around 200 people currently use the official cloud version, and you can start using it as well, or set up the Self Hosting Edition on your own server, if you have experience with setting up a server & are willing to invest some setup & maintenance time.
