What we’re about

OpenTeams promotes Community-First Open Source (CFOS) and strives to make contributors to these projects thrive both professionally and financially.  The meetup connects open-source contributors and communities with organizations of all kinds that both use and fund open-source development.

We take a particular interest in helping people new to the open-source development process participate in it.  We help people discuss and collaborate on "islets" which are fragments of proposals or initiatives for CFOS projects.  We are particularly interested in tools and processes to help new projects and new contributors interact meaningfully in the product management and steady progression of CFOS projects using a distributed and asynchronous development style.

We will host, promote, and discuss webinars, meetups, and conferences to help CFOS projects thrive with funding from venture funds, business activities, business profits, non-profit grants, government grants, patrons, and more.
