What we’re about
The Shepherd Center of Northern Virginia is a non-denominational but faith-affiliated non-profit celebrating 25 years in the community. We are an organization by, with, and for adults aged 50 and better. We provide free transportation, friendly callers, friendly visitors, and handy helpers (minor home and yard work). We offer caregiver support groups, wellness groups, Tai Chi, lunch and learns, and educational opportunities. We are enjoying laughter, connection, and friendships. We are a small staff powered by dedicated volunteers that give rides, help answer phones, work on committees, write grants, and are heroes in the communities we serve. Join us as we endeavor to create a "world without loneliness".

Our largest, annual fundraiser of the year is coming up again this fall and we would love all of you to join us! September 16, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm mark your calendars for Pickleball!
This event will be held at the beautiful Worldgate Athletic Club & Spa in Herndon VA. (13037 Worldgate Dr. Herndon VA)There will be 10 full pickleball courts, a team of professional pickleball instructors on-site, delicious refreshments, a swanky golf-simulation lounge that allows players to choose from some of the most famous courses in the world to play on, a silent auction with fabulous experiences, carefully curated raffle prizes and a fun photo booth with pickleball props to capture the best moments of the day!
