The Psychic Soviet by Ian Svenonius
Details
Written in 2006 by hardcore musician Ian Svenonius, Psychic Soviet is a bewildering postmodern manifesto that manages to be at once wildly satirical and disturbingly prescient. Essays cover topics such as gentrification and television, capitalist malaise following the Soviet collapse, the Beatles and Maoism, Alan Greenspan's influence on Techno music, rock and roll as a religion, and other subjects that can barely be broached without ten levels of meta-irony. One of the most entertaining books I've read, and I hope you'll join me for discussion
