2026 WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
By RSVPing "Yes", participating, or otherwise registering for this Meetup event in any way, you explicitly agree to all terms and conditions outlined in this agreement.
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the City of Hope Walk for Hope (the “Event”) with the Meetup group OC Recreational Adventurous Asian Professional as a walker, runner, fundraiser, volunteer, or in any other capacity, I, for myself and for my heirs, next of kin, assigns, and personal representatives, agree to the following:

1. Voluntary Participation: I acknowledge and agree that I am voluntarily participating in this Meetup event and the Event. I am solely responsible for determining whether I am physically capable of engaging in these activities.
2. Physical Condition: I represent that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in the Event. If at any time I feel my physical condition no longer allows me to participate safely, or I believe the environment becomes unsafe, I will immediately stop my participation.
3. Assumption of Risk: I fully understand that there are risks and dangers of serious bodily injury and death that could result from my participation. These risks include, but are not limited to: weather conditions, equipment failures, traffic/motor vehicles, and the actions or negligence of other people (including event officials, other participants, Meetup organizers, and spectators). Knowing these risks, I FULLY ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL RISKS AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY INJURY, LOSSES, AND DAMAGES TO PERSON OR PROPERTY THAT I INCUR AS A RESULT OF MY PARTICIPATION.
4. Release and Hold Harmless: I HEREBY AGREE NOT TO SUE AND TO RELEASE, DISCHARGE, WAIVE, HOLD HARMLESS, AND INDEMNIFY City of Hope, the Meetup group "OC Recreational Adventurous Asian Professional", the Meetup Event Organizers, hosts, and all affiliates, alongside their respective officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and sponsors (collectively and individually “Releasees”) FROM AND AGAINST ALL LIABILITIES, CLAIMS, DEMANDS, LOSSES, DAMAGES, SUITS, AND PROCEEDINGS, REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE, INCLUDING THE NEGLIGENCE OR CARELESSNESS OF ANY RELEASEE, ARISING OR RESULTING FROM MY PARTICIPATION IN THIS EVENT.
5. Compliance & Software: I will comply with all rules of the event venue and any terms regarding the use of Event platform applications or third-party software.
6. Information Sharing: I understand and agree that registration information may be shared with necessary third parties for the sole purpose of conducting and coordinating the Event.
7. Media Release: I irrevocably grant to City of Hope and the Meetup group organizers the right and permission to use my recorded voice, image, and likeness in photographs, video, film, or social media captured during the event for any lawful purpose.
8. Severability & Voluntary Intent: I understand that these terms apply whether the Event is in-person or virtual. I enter into this agreement freely and voluntarily. I agree that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid, the remaining balance shall continue to be in full force and effect.
