Thank you for checking out our group. After years of being a private club we have now opened up our events - free of charge. Active Singles Adventures has been in Orange County for over 38 years now. We used to be Athletic Singles Association but changed our name so as not to intimidate anyone (and because a person didn't need to be "athletic" to enjoy our group). But we are still "ASA" . We continue to organize interesting social and active events so you can come out and meet our travelers and consider coming on one of our trips which we run as Singles in Paradise.
Our typical trip consists of 40 singles. We recently traveled to Peru, Kenya, China, Costa Rica, Tahiti, Panama, Belize, Honduras, Greece, Amsterdam, Belgium, Ireland, Galapagos and other exotic destinations - all with experienced guides and terrific group rates.

The best of the Philippines with lots of snorkeling in beautiful clear water
35 people already signed upWe'll start off with the island of Palawan. Palawan was voted #1 island in the world in 2014 by Conde Naste. We will be staying in the area of Puerto Princesa. It is the most biodiverse islands in the Philippines. Palawan is an archipelago with 1,780 islands on the western part. Due to amazing landscapes and high bio-diversity, Palawan island is known as “The Last Ecological Frontier of the Philippines”. The northern part is characterized by incredible clear waters, white beaches, and many species of flora and fauna. Palawan is a sliver of an island that teems with exotic wildlife, quaint fishing villages, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The capital, Puerto Princesa, is known for the biodiverse Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, where boats run along an underground river through vast caves. Off the east coast, Honda Bay’s islands are dotted with resorts. Farther out in the Sulu Sea, Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park has reefs teeming with marine life.
Our first tour there is the underground river tour where we will take a motorised Banka to the entrance then a canoe tour in to the Cave itself. The tour takes you into the first 1.5 kilometres of the Underground River cave. Experience the beauty of Stalagmites and Stalactites, which took thousands of years to form, and the Swift and Bat populations that inhabit the cave. The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River is one of the top natural wonders of the world.
Our next tour is a 3-island hopping in Honda Bay. Each island at Honda Bay offers different thrills but Luli Island, Starfish Island, Panden Island and Cowrie Island are all great for swimming and snorkeling. Dive sites abound here, as the entire area is studded with patches of coral and sand. Submerged reefs may be found close to the surface down to 24 meters.
Next we travel to El Nido, known for white-sand beaches, coral reefs and as the gateway to the Bacuit archipelago, a group of islands with steep karst cliffs. Miniloc Island is famed for the clear waters of its Small and Big lagoons. Nearby Shimizu Island has fish-filled waters. The area has many dive sites, including Dilumacad Island’s long tunnel leading to an underwater cavern. El Nido is renowned as the "Heaven on Earth", and it comprises 45 islands and islets (Bacuit Archipelago), many of which are uninhabited. We have 3 days of tours set up here that will feature visits to these incredibly beauiful islands and amazing snorkeling.
Our last stop is to Boracay Island where we'll have another island hopping tour and a beautiful 5-star hotel on a private beach.

10:00 –Ocean trails bicycle tour along the coast. Haven’t ridden a bike in a while? Bike rentals are EZ, and our rides are great for first timers, shy people, and expert riders. Open for all levels but must have a basic level of fitness and be willing and able to ride as part of a supportive group. We are well organized, informal, and have fun exercising while socializing. We have scheduled stops along the way to ‘Group Up’ and hydrate. Bring any kind of bike or rent one. Bikes with gears are recommended. Are you ready for a beautiful fun day?

HISTORY OF OCEAN BIKE TOURS
We have led over 370 bike tours over recent years on bike paths, side roads and paved trails (No PCH) along the ocean from Laguna Beach to the Queen Mary. Meet new friends, like-minded people, exercise and enjoy the beauty of where we live. Please read the entire post.
SELF REGULATED FUN
We ride as a safe, supportive group for casual exercise in well-organized rides and everyone is Self-Responsible. You should have a basic level of fitness and show up with a bike in good working order or rent a bike.

THE RIDE
NOT a ‘pack ride’ and no PCH, keeping to trails and side streets. A few hills that are a positive challenge for single speed bikes. Plan for 4+/- hours and 22+/- miles. Leave from the Galley Café to Bayside Drive to The Dunes, Corona del Mar Heights and then the beaches – then to the Crystal Cove bike paths. A long stretch overlooking the ocean is perfect for whale spotting. Back to Crystal Cove beach and return. 18+/- Miles.
PICNIC
We will stop at an oasis at Crystal Cove shopping center for a picnic in a shaded veranda. No bike lock needed. Park our bikes and go get food and return to eat together. Trader Joe’s – Starbucks – Pizza – other healthy carryout places to choose from or pack your picnic with you.

Biking and running activities and all outdoor sports outings are rewarding and pleasant activities, but there are common dangers you should be aware of including Covid 19. By signing up for this bike trip, you assume the risks of the outing and agree to release the organization, the trip organizer and other participants from claims for any and all injuries or other losses sustained during this trip. Helmets highly recommended.

We'll start off with a full day Tokyo tour with stops to four of Tokyo's popular sightseeing spots: Tokyo Tower, the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, Sumida River Cruise, and Asakusa Kannon temple.
The next day we'll take a tour to Nikko. It is a town at the entrance to Nikko National Park, most famous for Toshogu, Japan's most lavishly decorated shrine and the mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate. Nikko had been a center of Shinto and Buddhist mountain worship for many centuries before Toshogu was built in the 1600s, and Nikko National Park continues to offer scenic, mountainous landscapes, lakes, waterfalls, hot springs, wild monkeys and hiking trails.You will also enjoy a free day with some of our suggestions including a wonderful bike ride along some scenic trails that we enjoyed on our last trip or a hop on/ hop off tour.
After our 4-days in Tokyo we will board the bullet train for the 3-hour ride to Kyoto. In route we will visit Mt Fuji, Japan's tallest mountain and active volcano. We will take a boat ride on Lake Ashinoko and experience the Komagatake Ropeway. This tour is also included in your package.KYOTO TOURS:
Arashiyama a pleasant, touristy district in the western outskirts of Kyoto. The area has been a popular destination since the Heian Period (794-1185), when nobles would enjoy its natural setting. Arashiyama is particularly popular during the cherry blossom and fall color seasons. Arashiyama's famous bamboo groves and pleasure boats that are available for rent on the river.
Then we will take a ride on the Sagano Scenic Railway is a sightseeing train line that runs along the Hozugawa River between Arashiyama and Kameoka. Its charming, old fashioned trains wind their way through the mountains at a relatively slow pace, taking about 25 minutes to make the seven kilometer journey and giving passengers a pleasant view of the scenery as they travel from Arashiyama through the forested ravine and into rural Kameoka.
From there we will take a little hike to a place called Monkey Park Iwatayama. Located in the Arashiyama mountains, the entrance to the monkey park can be found just south of the Togetsukyo Bridge. After hiking uphill for about ten minutes, visitors will find an open area with over a hundred monkeys roaming freely. There are also nice views down onto the city.The day is not over! From here we'll visit Saga-Toriimoto Preserved Street. Much of this street along the way to the Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple has been preserved in the style of the Meiji Period (1868-1912).
Full day Kyoto highlights and Nara
Discover the history and religions of ancient Japan during this 10-hour exploration of Kyoto and Nara. SeeKyoto's UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kinkaku-ji and Nijo Castle, along with its Imperial Palace. You'll also visit Nara's deer park and have a chance to feed and pet wild deer.
Eastern Kyoto Full Day
Today we have number of stops starting off with The Philosopher's Path which starts just outside the approach to Ginkakuji and follows a canal. We'll visit the historic shopping streets of the Higashiyama District. Our tour will also take in the Kiyomizudera Temple and Eikando a large temple that is especially nice to visit in autumn when the leaves change.

Fiji has an unspoiled, unique environment of extreme beauty and tranquility. They are absolutely beautiful and offer plenty of activities and world class diving and snorkeling. This will be our 4th trip to Fiji and they keep getting better.
We will fly direct on Fiji Airways from LAX departing the evening of Tuesday, July 8th and arriving very early on Thursday (you lose Wednesday due to the time zone) giving us a full 10-days! We spend 3-nights on the mainland of Viti Levu at Denarau Island followed by 6-nights on Mololo Island (AKA Plantation Island). It's a perfect mix with a reasonable flight time and great accommodations.
Located in Nadi, Denarau Island is also a harbor that's very convenient for all of our tours, dining and nightlife. There are several amazing adventure tours in the jungle including 4x4 and jet boating, hiking to a great mud pool, cave and village and even zip lining. If you're anxious to scuba, then you can also arrange that while we're here in Denarau. On these mainland tours we will visit remote villages to meet the natives which makes for a very cool experience as the Fijians are the warmest people you will ever find. On our tours you will learn about their culture, ceremonies and beliefs. They will make us feel welcome with their kava ceremonies.We have some awesome tours set up for our 2 other free days on the mainland including a really cool hike with mud pools and a beautiful waterfall and the Saigatoka River tour with 4x4's, jet boating and a village and cave tour. After our 3-days on the mainland we then ferry out to Malolo Island for our stay at Musket Cove resort. We have been to this island several times now and every group has loved it. Once again we will be staying at the fabulous Musket Island Resort. This amazing property is nestled on the 553 acre island of Malolo LaiLai, part of the Mamanuca Group of islands and is just 10 miles offshore. Malolo is renowned for its pristine white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters. The snorkeling and diving in this area is off the charts - equal to, if not better than Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
Besides snorkeling and diving, other activities include golfing, massage and even surfing. We will also offer an optional full day private island hopping tour that will take us to several idyllic, very picturesque islands. There's even a really fun tour we added last year to this awesome party-type barge called Cloud Nine sounded with a beautiful reef and now a second party barge called Seventh Heaven. Our last group really loved it.
