What we’re about
Thank you for checking out our group. After years of being a private club we have now opened up our events - free of charge. Active Singles Adventures has been in Orange County for over 38 years now. We used to be Athletic Singles Association but changed our name so as not to intimidate anyone (and because a person didn't need to be "athletic" to enjoy our group). But we are still "ASA" . We continue to organize interesting social and active events so you can come out and meet our travelers and consider coming on one of our trips which we run as Singles in Paradise.

SPAIN: BARCELONA, MALLORCA, AND SEVILLE APRIL 16-28, 2024
11-Nights, 4-star properties With Air - Just $3,650This trip has been months in the planning and is what we proudly feel is now worthy of our audience. It will make for an amazing journey for sure, taking us to Barcelona for 3-nights, Mallorca for 4-nights and Seville for 4-nights.
We start off in Barcelona for our first 3 nights. The first human settlements in Barcelona date back to Neolithic times. The city itself was founded by the Romans who set up a colony called Barcino at the end of the 1st century BC. The 20th century ushered in widespread urban renewal throughout Barcelona city, culminating in its landmark Eixample district. The Catalan Antoni Gaudí, one of the most eminent architects, designed buildings such as the Casa Milà (known as La Pedrera, the Catalan for stone quarry), the Casa Batlló and the Sagrada Família church, which have become world-famous landmarks. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is one of Europe’s trendiest cities. Much of the activity revolves around Las Ramblas, a series of narrow streets and alleys packed with restaurants, nightclubs and a vibrant pedestrian market.
Next up is Mallorca. We'll have 4-nights to explore and enjoy this beautiful island. For many years Mallorca has been a favorite nautical destination for Europeans and Spanish people due to a variety of reasons. But the main reason is that it is an extraordinarily beautiful place in the Mediterranean, with crystal-clear waters and an ideal weather.
Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands and has many interesting attractions for tourists. Our hotel is ideally located in the harbor, just a few minutes' walk from the Old Towne in Palma. Attractions in and around Palma de Mallorca include the city's dramatic seafront Cathedral (La Seu) - which was constructed in the 13th century and took almost 400 years to complete; the Parc de la Mar - a tiered park offering splendid views of the waterfront; and the grand Almudaina Palace - a formal royal residence dating back almost 700 years. There are many museums in Mallorca, offering interesting information about the island and its history, which dates back to ancient times and boasts traces of Roman and Arab civilizations. Appealing art galleries are also present on Mallorca, exhibiting various works of art, such as the Museu d'Art Espanyol Contemporani, which has paintings by Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro and Salvador Dali.
Our 4-star hotel here is situated on the harbor a short walk into the main old town area and we have paid an extra fee to guarantee everyone sea view rooms!
After 4-nights in Mallorca we will fly off to Seville. Our hotel is perfectly situated within easy walking distance to all the attractions including the wonderful palace of Alcazar and the Catedral de Seville and Giralda Tower, the largest Gothic building in the world and the third-largest church in Europe. It is truly impressive.
From Seville we plan to offer a couple of wonderful day trips including Ronda or even a trip across the Strait of Gibraltar to visit Tangier. Ronda was one of our favorite towns on our last visit to Spain.Ronda sits in the heart of the Serrania de Ronda, about 100kms from the city of Malaga and with apopulation of approximately 35,000 inhabitants. Surrounded by lush river valleys and sitting above a deep ravine, it is a place that literally takes your breath away when seeing it. Anyone who has been lucky enough to visit Ronda will understand its appeal. It is one of the most beautiful and visited cities in Spain (the third most visited city in Andalucia).

We’ll wander around Old Town Square with its many wonderful Gothic and baroque buildings. We’ll see the famous 15th-century astronomical clock at the Old Town Hall. Every hour, crowds assemble below to watch Christ and the twelve Apostles appear at two little windows above the clock face, followed by the skeleton of Death tolling the bell. In the evenings we’ll find some of Europe’s best jazz venues, excellent opera, and innovative theater.Tours in Prague will include a full day on tour to two amazing places, one which is a World Heritage Site! We'll start off at Kutna Hora. The historic centre is one of the country's prettiest and the gothic cathedral of St Barbara arguably the country's most spectacular. Our second stop is to Cesky Sternberk, set on the steep stony bank of the Sázavar. Called the "Pearl of Posázaví" by a romantic poet [Posázaví is the region around the river], the castle was built in 1241 by Zdeslav of Divišov, and given the name "Šternberk" according to the custom of the day.
After our 4-nights in Prague we'lll bus to Vienna. Along the way we'll visit the amazing medieval town of Cesky Krumlov. This Unesco world heritage site is one of the most scenic towns you will ever visit. Vienna is known for their medieval streets and magnificent cathedrals and palaces, along with being home of some of the most famous composers including Mozart, Strauss and Tchaikovsky. Magnificent Hofburg Palace, Belvedere Palace, extensive gardens, museums, music, architecture, trendy clubs and restaurants are all waiting for us.
On our first full day we'll enjoy the Belvedere gardens - Schönbrunn Palace. We'll visit the Vienna Woods a very scenic area, to hear stories of "Singing Monks" or about the tragedy of Mayerling. We'll then visit the Abbey of Heiligenkreuz. a beautiful and living Cistercian monastery.
On our second day we'll take a full day tour with our bus plus a nice boat ride on the Danube to visit the beauty of the Wachau. The Danube winds his way past charming old villages and steep vineyards. We'll visit the Abbey of Melk and enjoy the former Imperial Rooms, the Marble Hall, the balcony and the library. Finally, we'll take the hydrofoil from Vienna to Budapest.
On our first day we'll enjoy first a walking tour. This tour will take us to the Caste District, Gellért hill and Heroes' square. We will have the option to visit Matthias church as well. Then we'll get on our bus and visit the Central market and enjoy some free time for lunch there. From there we will go to the cave church which is very interesting and unique since the church is inside a natural cave. We will then go to the Parliament area and then St. Stephen Basilica.
On our second day we'll go on the "Bends of the Danube" tour. The tour goes along the river Danube to the north from the capital to the Danube Bend. 10-Nights, Deluxe 5-star hotels, domestic air and Bangkok tours just $2,125This will be our 4th trip to Thailand and our third time to Krabi. Thailand is exotic, beautiful, and thrillingly different. This is a relaxing trip with just two stops - 3-nights in Bangkok and 7-nights in Krabi. We depart LAX on June 19th and arrive in Bangkok on the 20th.
We arrive on June 20th with our flight from LAX (stops in Singapore). The next 2 days we will plan a a couple of half day tours to include the Grand Palace and a Klong tour of the canals. On this tour, a long-tailed speedboat whisks you down the Chao Phraya River and canals (khlongs) of Thonburi – the original site where Bangkok was founded. During our canal tour we will visit Wat Arun, situated on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. The spire (prang) of Wat Arun is one of Bangkok's world-famous landmarks. It has an imposing spire over 70 metres high, beautifully decorated with tiny pieces of colored glass and Chinese porcelain placed delicately into intricate patterns.
If there is one must-see sight that no visit to Bangkok would be complete without, it's the dazzling, spectacular Grand Palace, undoubtedly the city's most famous landmark. Built in 1782 - and for 150 years the home of the Thai King, the Royal court and the administrative seat of government - the Grand Palace of Bangkok is a grand old dame indeed, that continues to have visitors in awe with its beautiful architecture and intricate detail, all of which is a proud salute to the creativity and craftsmanship of Thai people.
Our hotel, the 5- star Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn was chosen for it's high ranking on Tripadvisor (29 out of 1600 hotels in Bangkok!) and the tram system stops right at the hotel, not to mention the beautiful rooms and infinity pool at the top of the roof! Everyone will get upgraded rooms to the Executive floor with not just amazing views but some incredible benefits including free open bar for 2 hours every night complete with enough hors dourves that you will likely skip dinner!!
After our 3 nights in Bangkok we will depart for the amazing coastline with our visit to Krabi. You will be blown away with the beauty and the islands off-shore that are a short boat ride away. Krabi Town is majestically situated among impossibly angular limestone karsts jutting from the mangroves. The distinguishing feature of both Krabi and neighboring Phang Nga is the massive limestone karsts, rising vertiginously out of the flat rice paddies on land and as islands from the sea.Krabi abounds with countless natural attractions that never fail to impress. Such attractions include white sandy beaches, crystal clear water, fascinating coral reefs, caves and waterfalls, as well as numerous islands. We'll organize optional tours into the interior jungle for river rafting ATVing, Caving, Ziplining, and even elephant riding and head to the ocean for snorkeling, island hoping and scuba diving. There is just so much to do including visiting spas, hot springs and other sight seeing and in Thailand our dollars goes a long way!
Our hotel is the 5-star Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort situated on a beautiful private beach in the Nong Thale area featuring beautiful large rooms. This is another luxury resort that will certainly please. Read more below. Early signups will get sea facing rooms.

- France with Paris and BurgundyParis, Paris
SEPTEMBER 18th - 29th, 2024
10-Nights, International Air, Wine Tasting Tours, Ground Transportation and Great hotels just $4,250We start off with 4-nights in Paris, France's capital. Paris is a global center for art, fashion, gastronomy and culture. Its 19th-century cityscape is crisscrossed by wide boulevards and the River Seine. Beyond such landmarks as the Eiffel Tower and the 12th-century, Gothic Notre-Dame cathedral, the city is known for its cafe culture and designer boutiques along the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Welcome to the mesmerizing realm of Paris, a city where every cobblestone holds whispers of history and every avenue unfurls a tapestry of experiences. Each neighborhood is a world of its own, a unique chapter in this epic novel of art, culture, and life. From the bohemian spirit of Montmartre to the timeless elegance of the Latin Quarter and the ancient heartbeat of the Ile de la Cité, Paris city is a kaleidoscope of emotions waiting to be explored. Our hotel is perfectly situated, just a 15-minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and some of the best sites.
We'll set up optional tours to visit the Louvre, Notre-Dame, Palace of Versailles, Arc de Triomphe and Champs Élysées. There's so much to do and see but we'll make every effort to offer the best of Paris. Here's a website that will give you a good idea of things to do. Give us some time to work out the details and we're sure you'll be delighted with our itinerary. From there we head south into Burgundy and our wine tasting portion of this trip. And it's more than wine tasting - you'll enjoy these charming towns and scenery along with way as well. We'll have 2-stops of 3-nights each with 6 visits to the best wineries in the area - all included in your package! We've done quite a bit of research and have consulted with a local guide and wine tour expert to set up these visits. Winery tours in Burgundy are normally quite pricey so we're sure our trip with these tours included is an amazing value. We'll stay in Dijon, in the heart of Burgundy for 3-nights. On our way we'll begin our wine tour with a stop in Chablis.
Dijon is the capital city of the historical Burgundy region in eastern France, one of the country’s principal wine-making areas. It’s known for its traditional mustard, vineyard tours, autumn gastronomic fair and building styles ranging from Gothic to art deco. The distinguished 1787 Musée des Beaux-Arts, housed in the vast Palace of the Dukes, holds a rich collection of paintings, sculptures, crafts and antiquities. If you love cities filled with beautiful, historic buildings and if you love fantastic food and wonderful wines, museums, galleries, sitting at terraced cafés watching the world go by as you sip a delicious local wine, impossibly fabulous street markets, great wine bars and a vibrant friendly vibe – then add Dijon to your must see list. Cobbled streets, grand squares, half-timbered houses, a huge palace, narrow alleyways lined with medieval buildings and even a magic owl.
We will enjoy a day tour to Beaune in the heart of Burgundy with a visit to a winery. This French city (which is pronounced 'bun') is gateway not only to the Burgundy wine region, but also to the wine regions of Beaujolais to the south and Champagne to the north. The city was well established as a wine trading post by the 13th century. We may also set up an optional bicycling tour that seems like a wonderful way to get some exercise and explore the region as well as taste more wines!
From Dijon we'll continue south to the city of Lyon. In route we'll make a stop at another winery in the Beaujolais area. A UNESCO World Heritage Site with 2,000 years of history. Lyon is France's third-largest city, and offers today's urban explorers a wealth of enticing experiences. We'll enjoy our 3-days in Lyon with all the fantastic sight-seeing opportunities including the Basilique Notre Dame de Fourvière, Musée des Beaux-Arts, Basilique Notre Dame de Fourvière, Place des Terreaux. Here's a cool article: Why Lyon is one of France's most underrated cites. We will have a guided walking tour of Lyon on the 27th and then a full day tour of the countryside and Rhone Valley on the 28th.
