LSP's Farm Beginnings Program hosts a tour of Urban Roots farm with Marcos Giossi, the farm manager. You'll hear about how-to’s of urban farming as well as their approach to youth education in agriculture. Youth in the Market Garden paid-job program learn hands-on small-scale crop production at urban gardens, becoming stewards of the land and communities. Produce goes into the Cook Fresh program of shared meals for interns, is taken to farmers’ markets including Mobile Markets, and distributed into East Saint Paul hunger-relief efforts. Urban Roots promotes community health through education, the restoration of green spaces, and access to locally grown food. Posted FYI (for your information.) Organizer may not be there.
