The Sydney SEO Collective is back for our September 2026 meetup. This month we're tackling one of the highest-stakes projects an SEO will ever run: the site migration.
We're excited to have Aaron Taylor, General Manager at Prosperity Media, stepping out of the co-host seat and onto the stage as our keynote speaker. He'll be presenting "SEO Migrations For Enterprise."
Organic search can account for 30 to 50 per cent of traffic depending on the organisation, so a single mistake during a migration can be the difference between hitting quarterly revenue targets and a difficult conversation with shareholders. Aaron will take you through the good, the bad and the ugly from his own experience, so you can spot the common pitfalls before they cost you.
He'll cover the common types of migrations, how to manage multiple risk factors at once, how to handle information architecture changes without losing rankings, and how to maintain client relationships through one of the most testing events in an SEO's career. A big part of the session is communication: developers, internal marketers and brand teams often have conflicting objectives, and Aaron will share how to keep everyone pulling in the same direction.

SEO Collective is an extension of the Melbourne SEO Meetup, which started when the Brisbane SEO group first met up at the Ship Inn, Brisbane Southbank, 7th Nov 2008.
