About us

Poetry Circle (55+)
Small Group • Real Conversation • No Pressure

Looking for a quieter, more meaningful poetry experience?

We’re forming a small group (3–6 people) for adults 55+ to meet locally (Orland Park, Palos, New Lenox, Lemont, Lockport areas) and share original poetry in a relaxed, supportive setting.

This is not an open mic or formal critique workshop.
It’s a space to:

  • Share your work however you choose to
  • Reflect on what it expresses
  • Listen and connect with others

Focus:
Emotion, meaning, life experience—not technical analysis

Format:

  • Meet every 2–3 weeks
  • 60–90 minutes
  • Each person shares 1 poem or short story
  • Gentle, thoughtful discussion

Who might enjoy this:

  • Writers exploring life, relationships, aging, memory, or change
  • Those who prefer depth over performance
  • Anyone wanting a calm, respectful environment

Location:
Local library, café, or quiet meeting space (to be decided together)
