About us
This is a reading group for people who want to read and discuss critical theory. We’ll read works of psychoanalysis, literary theory, feminism, and cultural studies.
The plan is for this to function as a book club: show up having read as much or as little as you could, meet some new people, grab a drink, and jump into the discussion.
We will focus on easy and accessible texts to start, and we'll transition to books that interest the group as a whole.

In kicking off this reading group, we're starting with Deleuze's short essay, Postscript on the Societies of Control! I chose this essay because of it's accessibility and the fact that it is under 5 pages, but it is in conversation with other philosophers like Foucault.
Even if you don't read it all or struggle with it, I still recommend coming as it should be a text that's easy to break down for discussion, and should be an interesting time for all.
