Godzilla vs. King Kong! Sunken Meadow to Kings Park Psychiatric 5-6 mile hike

Godzilla(the ocean) vs. King Kong(the concrete jungle)

There's a good chance you've never been on this combined Trail / hike before.

We will be hiking from the Sunken Meadow Trail entrance (733 Old Dock Road) down to the beach then head back over the bridges to the Sunken Meadow State Park Trail. We will then eventually cross over St Johnland Road to a lesser known Trail and eventually make our way over to Kings Park Psychiatric. We will circle the King Kong buildings #41-43, known as "The Quad" then head back to Sunken Meadow State Park. We'll get back onto the main trail, make a quick visit to an 18th century graveyard and then back to the parking lot.

When you arrive in the parking area, look for me holding my sign-in clipboard standing near my big red pickup truck.

For this hike, I recommend long pants and hiking shoes with good treads. Drinking water to keep you hydrated and, if you like, a snack to keep you energized.

New attendees to my Spring thru Summer hiking season are required to pay a $5.00 semi-annual fee to cover my planning, preparation and Meetup.com's exorbitant fees. This fee will cover you for all future hikes up through August 2025.
