Gardiner County Park, 3.8 mi. Bayshore

This is an easy 3.8 mi. walking trail.

Parking area off the southeast side of Montauk Highway (Route 27A). Travel east and then south through the forest and fields on the Plover Trail. Join the Beach Trail and continue to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy the views across the water.

Plenty of parking. Wide flat trails, tall reeds, little mud, few streams, nice ocean views, muddy beach. Nice Dog park.

If you plan to attend this hike, it is essential that you RSVP.

INSTRUCTIONS:
When you arrive, look for Greg. I'll be standing near my big red GMC Denali pickup truck holding my sign-in clipboard .

SUGGESTIONS:
For this hike, I recommend wearing shorts, leggings or long pants. Bring water to keep you hydrated and, if you like, a snack to keep you energized.

ALERT! Since it's officially bug season, insect repellent is recommended and it's a good idea to check yourself for ticks at the end of the hike, before you get back into your car or after you get home.
