9am Start! Kings Park Psychiatric Asylum - New Paths, New Sites, New POI

Today's hike will start at 9:00 a.m. instead of 10:00 a.m. in an effort to beat the rain.
Join us fellow hikers for our most popular hike. It will be about 4-5 miles long and take about 2 hours.
We will be parking on the far east side of the William T. Rogers Middle School parking lot off Old Dock Road in Kings Park. Look for me and my sign-in clipboard standing near my big red pickup truck.
This hike will be easy to moderate, so it's highly recommended that you wear shoes with good treads and long pants or leggings.
We will be hiking on pavement as well as hiking on paths in winding, hilly woods. The trails will occasionally be leafy, muddy or steep with a few short steep declines and inclines so be careful and pay attention.
We'll see the psychiatric facilities that housed former residents as well as the staff residences.
Unpaid attendees are required to pay a $5.00 semi-annual fee to cover my planning and preparation and Meetup.com's exorbitant fees. We are also accepting donations as well.
