Gardiner County Park, 3.9 mi. In Bayshore, NY

This is an easy 3.9 mi. walking trail.

PARKING: Parking lot is off the south side of Montauk Highway (Route 27A). Entrance to park almost directly across from Manor Lane. Plenty of parking.

This easy hike has mostly wide flat trails, tall reeds, little mud, few streams, and a nice ocean view.

ATTENTION: New attendees to my Late Winter/Mid-Summer Hiking Season(2/15 - 8/15/2026) are required to pay a one time semi-annual $5.00 fee to cover my planning, preparation and Meetup.com's exorbitant fees. This fee will cover you for all future hikes through August 15, 2026.

INSTRUCTIONS:
When you arrive, look for Greg. I'll be standing near my big red GMC pickup truck holding my sign-in clipboard.

SUGGESTIONS:
For this hike, I recommend wearing shorts, leggings or long pants and shoes with good treads. If you like, bring water to keep yourself hydrated and a snack to keep yourself energized.

ALERT! Since it's now bug season, insect repellent is recommended. It's also a good idea to check yourself for ticks at the end of the hike, before you get back into your car or after you get home.
