What we’re about
The Ottawa Psychedelic Education Network (OPEN) is a safe and supportive community for those interested in psychedelics, entheogens, plant medicines, plant teachers and non-ordinary states of consciousness.
Through community engagement and education on the nature of psychedelic experiences as well as the rapidly advancing scientific research into their potential for healing and personal transformation, we hope to break the stigma surrounding psychedelics and those who use them. We take a strong harm-reduction approach, and support the legalization and sensible regulation of psychedelic medicines.
Our events provide opportunities for members to explore, learn and share one's experiences with like-minded individuals and are aimed at providing a supportive environment where one can feel comfortable examining the various insights, impacts and challenges generated by these experiences. We also place a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion, harm reduction and encouraging the open and safe use of psychedelic substances.
More information and community posts can be found on our Facebook page:

Please Note:
We ask that all members respect other people’s privacy. The current stigmas and prohibitions make it difficult for some to be open about their interests in this subject matter.
We do not encourage or condone the purchase, sale, transfer, or use of any illegal substances; nor partaking in any unlawful activities related to such substances. Please do not bring, buy, sell, transfer, or arrive on any illicit substances, or swap information on how to acquire them at any of our events.

- Psychedelic Cannabis CeremoniesNeeds location
Join us for a group psychedelic ceremony with cannabis, taking place over two days, as a transformative co-creation between plant medicine and inner exploration.
Space in this event is very limited – 10 participants. The waitlist will be followed in order. Please only register if you are fully committed! Your participation will be confirmed after your safety form (see below) is reviewed.
About the experience
This Psychedelic Journey combines mindfulness, music, intentional breath, and the intentional use of psychedelics within a ceremonial container. This circle will give you a chance to experience a psychedelic journey in a safe and supportive space and also to learn skills in breathwork, body awareness, nervous system regulation, and more. This year, the ceremonies will be a little different. On day 1, you will be invited to experience an introduction to the medicine and the experience. On day 2 we dive deeper, combining cannabis with connected breathwork.
The use of breathwork within the psychedelic cannabis practice can deepen the effects of the cannabis experience, deepen body awareness, and can mimic experiences similar to DMT. It can be very evocative. There will be some gentle coaching throughout the breathwork experience.
Participants are invited to attend both days, as they tend to compliment each other and creates a larger healing container for you to do your personal work. See below for what to expect and frequently asked questions.
The ceremonies take place Saturday and Sunday, 12-4pm each day, and the cost is a sliding scale of $175-$225 for both days. This is a bring-your-own-cannabis event.
