What we’re about
If you enjoy reading and discussing modern and classic literature, you would be most welcome to join this Nottingham book club (previously known as The High Low Inspired Book Club). We meet once a month on either the first or second Saturday morning to share our thoughts and opinions relating to the chosen book of the month which we read in advance. At the end of each session we announce the book for the following month so you have plenty of time to enjoy it. The host generally compiles a list of questions to help develop the discussion but equally members are welcome to bring their own research about the themes and ideas in the books to the meetings. We don't always agree about what the main themes of the book are or what the authors intent is in writing the book, however we aim to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to join in the conversation and everybody's opinions are respected and valued. In order to give every participant the opportunity to contribute to the discussion, we limit the number of attendees for each session.
The sessions generally last for about an hour.
