Hello, F*ST!erhood and Friends.
We wanted to reach out to let you know about a very special collaboration for November's Feast or Famine show. If you're thinking that F*ST! and a church working together is an unconventional partnership, allow us to explain.

Last month, it came to our attention that Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church, known for their progressive all-inclusiveness and steadfast work in social justice, was facing pressure from some of their neighbors about people in and around the church utilizing the services of Joseph's Pantry. The prevalent presence of immigrants and unhoused folks receiving humanitarian aid through the church was upsetting enough that some residents acquired legal representation in an attempt to close down Joseph's Pantry.

F*ST! wanted to help, so we contacted Father Gary Cyr for a meeting (which we marked in our calendars as "Two Jews and a Lesbian walk into a Church...). We got a tour of the facility and met some of the people, behind and at the counter. Joseph's Pantry provides hot meals, access to showers, and "to go" bags of essential food and hygiene items - essentials to preserving not only life, but also dignity and hope. Father Gary shared that Joseph's Pantry now serves a staggering 17,000 people a year. Losing this community resource would be devastating.

F*ST! boosts the signal on marginalized voices and serves the community we love. Grace St. Paul's and their Joseph's Pantry do much the same, on a bigger scale, with more critical impact. Our missions are not that different.

We are honored that Father Gary agreed to work with F*ST! and allow Grace St. Paul's to be the beneficiary for our Feast or Famine show. (It's gotta be a little weird for them, too - we're not your usual church bake sale.) We didn't know when we chose this theme how literal it could be.
So, please come to the show on November 4th! In addition to our usual donation of 70% of ticket sales to support Joseph's Pantry, we are doing something a little extra extra. We’re collecting very specific pantry items to help keep our neighbors fed and cared for. Please bring something from this list and know you’re helping keep shelves stocked and spirits lifted.

Here’s what our beneficiary needs most:
🥫 **Pop-top canned goods only—**think meats (tuna, chicken, chili, stew) and veggies (corn, beans, mixed veggies). Easy open, no can opener required!
🧴 Hygiene essentials—feminine products, deodorant, toothpaste, and the little things that make a big difference in someone’s day.
🐾 Dog food, treats, leashes, collars, and bowls.

Tickets $10 donation at the door (cash & card)

Doors Open at 6:30 pm. I'll go in early and get seats in the 2nd or 3rd row.

Just So You'll Know:

• **The venue is a bar and alcohol will be present** Must be 21.
• You can bring your own non-alcoholic beverage.
• The venue can be climate-control challenged. Do NOT let that keep you from coming. Be prepared and dress in layers.
• $10 is paid at the door (Cash, check or card) Proceeds go to charity.
• Parking is free and easy on the street or in the parking lot just south of The Rock on Park.

I promise you that you'll be amazed at the strength and audacity of these women on stage telling their heartfelt and personal stories. Role models all!

About Female StoryTellers -
Female* StoryTellers was founded in 2012 as a way for women to share their stories and their voices and platform for women of Tucson to express themselves. They work to promote feminism and equality in our community by empowering women. They encourage women and people of all historically marginalized genders to participate.

Each month women are invited to share their stories in the form of a 10-15 minute monologue. Their theme changes every month, but their mission remains the same- give women a space to speak and share.
