We are lucky enough to have award-winning playwright and fiction writer, Monica Bauer, join us in person! We'll talk about how you can be a candle in the darkness, and how finding your "why" can lead you to your "how."

Monica will bring along copies of her novels. Her book, "The Book of Brad" is our February book club selection. You can get a copy from her at the event. If we ask nicely, she might just sign yours!

Monica Elizabeth Bauer is an award-winning playwright and fiction writer whose work has been produced Off-Broadway, regionally, and internationally, including at 59E59 Theaters and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She holds advanced degrees from Brown, Yale, Boston University, and the University of Nebraska, including a Ph.D. in Political Science and an MFA in Creative Writing.

Her honors include the Emerging Playwright Award from Urban Stages, Best Solo Show at the Hollywood Fringe, and recent Arizona Authors Association awards for fiction. Her novel The Book of Brad has been praised by IndieReader as “a funny, engaging, and warmly touching exploration of modern blended families and religious identity.”

A former Writing Fellow at Quinnipiac University, she is a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Authors Guild and lives in Tucson, Arizona.
