For fans of the Netflix series "Nobody Wants This"! A DNA test sends adoptee Rose Pettigrew, a young black lawyer, on a sometimes wildly comic, sometimes touching journey to find her Jewish family.

Her guide is the love of her life, Paula Bernstein, who has spent decades running from her own Jewish identity only to find herself in love with a brand new Jew Rose discovers the name of her father, Rabbi Brad Cohen, Rabbi to the Stars, Founder of Extremely Progressive Judaism, just days after his death.

Monica Elizabeth Bauer is an award-winning playwright and fiction writer whose work has been produced Off-Broadway, regionally, and internationally, including at 59E59 Theaters and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She holds advanced degrees from Brown, Yale, Boston University, and the University of Nebraska, including a Ph.D. in Political Science and an MFA in Creative Writing.

Her honors include the Emerging Playwright Award from Urban Stages, Best Solo Show at the Hollywood Fringe, and recent Arizona Authors Association awards for fiction. Her novel The Book of Brad has been praised by IndieReader as “a funny, engaging, and warmly touching exploration of modern blended families and religious identity.”

A former Writing Fellow at Quinnipiac University, she is a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Authors Guild and lives in Tucson, Arizona.
