About us

This community is designed for mothers and female caregivers raising Black boys. Our goal is to create a supportive space where women can build community while our sons build friendships.

Child Target age: 12 months to 5 years old. We may expand at a later time.

Vision Statement: To cultivate a supportive village where black boys, including African, Caribbean and American-American boys build lifelong friendships, celebrate their cultural identity, develop confidence, and thrive through play, learning and community.

Mission: Our sons collective exists to connect families raising Black boys in Northern Virginia, including Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties. This group will be a place where our sons are encouraged to be brave enough to be themselves, kind enough to lift one another up, and free enough to simply be kids.
Through play, friendship, cultural enrichment and community, we are nurturing the courage, confidence, sense of safety and character that will stay with them as they grow.

Group Motto: It Takes a Village. We are building one.
