THE RIDE: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51502355This is a new route into an area I've never been on before so be prepared for an adventure. This revised 44 km rroute, on paved surfaces, takes us from the Long Harbour Ferry Terminal, to Vesuvius Bay for lunch then back thru Ganges to Fulford Harbour to catch a ferry to Swartz Bay and home to Tsawwassen. Reservations can be made on the 9:10 Tsawwassen to Salt Spring (Long Harbour) leg but not on the Fulford to Swartz Bay. My hope is that this change will make for a more leisurely ride and give us more time to see the Island.
Difficulty: Moderate/ Hard if you have been biking regularly. There appears to be lots of ups and downs.
Distance: 44 km
Estimated Ride Time: 5 hr. approx.
Total Trip Time: 8 hr. approx.Bring: snacks//water and Pack a Lunch or buy something on Salt Spring Island. There is a café at Vesuvius Bay.
