Bike Ride - Brae Island / Barnston Island Loop

This is a loop ride with approximately 48 km on paved surfaces and 10 km on hard packed trails. Our route takes west from Brae Island along roads and trails to Port Kells where we catch the ferry to Barnston Island. We ride around the Island (10km) back to the ferry and into Surrey Bend Regional Park where we stop for lunch. After lunch we ride through Tynehead Park then east on roads and trails back to Brae Island.

Difficulty: Moderate if you have been biking regularly. There are a couple of small hills along the route.

Bring: snacks & water and Pack a lunch. there isn't anywhere to buy along the route.

Please be sure your bike is in good condition, tires are inflated and brakes are in good working order before arriving at the starting point. Carrying a Repair Kit and an extra inner tube is recommended. To help you to be seen and heard on the road, the following equipment is also recommended: a bell, flashing front and back lights or reflectors and a mirror
