Burnaby Lake - Ambleside Park Loop

This is a loop ride crossing 3 bridges. We take the Deer Lake Urban Trail and Central Valley Greenway from Burnaby Lake to False Creek, stopping at Purebread on Ontario and 5th for coffee. We next head over the Burrard St. Bridge, along English Bay, around Lost Lagoon and over the Lions Gate Bridge to Ambleside Park where we stop for lunch. To return we take the Spirit Trail across the North Shore, cross the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge, travel along Skeena, east on Union then south on Carleton and Gilmore to The CVG and back to Burnaby Lake. The route is on paved roads and bike paths.
Difficulty: Moderate / Hard if you have been biking regularly. There are some hills on this route.
Distance: 54.2 km.
Expected Duration: 5.5 Hrs.
Bring: snacks/water and pack a lunch or buy something at Ambleside.

Please be sure your bike is in good condition, tires are inflated and brakes are in good working order before arriving at the starting point. Carrying a Repair Kit and an extra inner tube is recommended. To help you to be seen and heard on the road, the following equipment is also recommended: a bell, flashing front and back lights or reflectors and a mirror.
