------------ FIRST, A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT RIVERS DAY ------------
World Rivers Day is an annual event held on the fourth Sunday of September to celebrate and raise awareness about the importance of rivers. This year, it falls on September 28, 2025. The day encourages people to connect with, learn about, and protect rivers and watersheds. It's a global event with roots in British Columbia, where Mark Angelo founded it in 2005 as BC Rivers Day.
