Kayak & SUP on Mountain Island Lake

Bring your kayak or standup paddleboard for an afternoon paddle on Mountain Island Lake. Temps are predicted to be in the upper 80s, so we'll launch out of the Neck Road boat ramp in Huntersville to take advantage of the last-of-summer weather and cruise the shoreline toward Latta Preserve. There are no bathroom facilities at the launch. We'll meet at the smaller parking area/launch you come to right before the paved boat/trailer parking lot.

Focus of this paddle is more relaxation than distance! We'll paddle together with several stops to float and chat along the way. Bring water, sunscreen, PFD, and a snack.

The only boat rental I could find online was Mountain Island Lake Paddle Co. - 704929-7930 - but not sure if they're open Friday. Bring your own equipment or, if you're hoping to rent, you can call them to see if rentals are available.
