Pagoda, Peace Rock and Neversink Mountain..15miles. Moderate + hike

Pagoda take 2. Did this hike before with a small group and vowed to come back! We will begin at Antietam Lake Park and hike through the Mt Penn Preserve to the Reading Pagoda and Peace Rock. From there we will cut through the town of Reading and hike the Neversink Mountain. We will take a food break at the Witches Hat.....:)

Expect about 2,500 feet of elevation and 15 fun miles.....

Due to distance, elevation and faster pace, this is NOT a hike for beginners. Limited number of stops, but we will stop to take in the beauty of all scenic destinations along the route.

Please be sure to wear proper footwear. Pack water and food. Also not a bad idea to pack any medication you feel may be needed- Alleve, Benadryl, stuff for bee stings, etc.

PARKING:

We will meet at the parking area considered the Mount Penn Trailhead off Angora Rd at the Antietam Lake Park. See Meetup pin for exact location/ parking lot. I highly suggest checking satellite view and directions beforehand to familiarize yourself with the parking area and your drive time.

This lot does fill up according to park ranger I spoke with last time. Highly advise arriving early. Never hurts to carpool and as always feel free to post carpool comments in the event.
