Deep woods custom chaos hike 14 miles, 3,200'

This is a challenging hike with a CUSTOM designed route. We will begin this hike from the parking lot on Pine Swamp Rd in Eckville (close to Hawk Mountain). Looking a map, the route I created is sandwiched between Hawk Mountain and Pinnacle/Pulpit loop. We will be on parts of the AT, State Gameland # 106 and other various trails. The highlight of the hike is a cool section of forestry along the Rattling Run stream and a killer 700' straight up climb on back side of AT. Similar in intensity to the Leg Destroyer in Port Clinton, which is a coupe miles away.

Expect a steady (not slow) pace.....it will be a little slower then our "normal" 3.5ish average due to long distance and several climbs. We will take brief stops at the overlooks and a stop to eat lunch at some point along this journey.

End time is best estimate based on hike conditions.

GEAR:

• Sturdy hiking footwear is a must
• Proper clothing for weather conditions
• Sufficient water and snacks
• Bug spray and sunscreen as desired

Membership:

• All attendees must be members of Outdoor Adventure Friends. This ensures proper communication and that folks know exactly what they are signing up for.

Parking:

• We will meet at the parking lot off Pine Swamp Rd (see Meetup Pin). Please check travel times to ensure on time arrival. We start on time.
