Five + Mile 4th of July VF Hike - Moderate Level with 1000 + feet of Elevation

Details

We will be doing a quick paced but fun hike at Valley Forge.
We'll get in 5 or more miles and 1000+ ft of elevation gain at a decent pace (3.0 + mph and a little slower on the uphills). This is a moderate level hike, along the trails of Mt Joy and Mt. Misery. Please try to be on time as a courtesy to the others.

Since it's the Fourth of July, we'll be making a quick stop at George Washington's Headquarters. For anyone who hasn't been there, it's interesting to explore.

We'll adjust distance and elevation within reason based on the group's skill level. Please note this is not a beginner hike.

Best to wear hiking boots or trail running shoes as we'll be on dirt trails with rocks and tree roots, not paved paths. A Hiking stick is handy for these trails, but not required.

Definitely recommend hydrating before the hike and bring plenty of water and a snack if you want.
