West Laurel Hill & Westminsiter cemetery PLUS Heritage trail and Manayunk

** 5:30pm SHARP departure**
NOTE: EARLIER TIME DUE TO CEMETERY HOURS

New 6.5 mile hike consisting of lots of dead people (no disrespect and they most likely would appreciate my humor). West Laurel Hill cemetery is BEAUTIFUL and much better appreciated alive. The plan is to cross over the Pencoyd Bridge into Bala for a little climb to the cemetery. We will do a nice loop in the cemetery before exiting onto the Heritage Trail. Expect a slight deviation off the trail and through the Westminister cemetery. Back on the Heritage trail, across the bridge into Manayunk. Of course no visit to Manayunk would be complete without tackling at least one hill......so be prepared (insert devilish grin). We will finish by traipsing through Main Street Manayunk making our way back to the starting point.

Please keep the following in mind:
1. Pace is about 3.2-3.5 and we keep moving with no breaks, only slight pauses. Pace will be a little slower in West Laurel Hill as there is so much to take in. But we do have to be out of there before gates close at 7pm.
2. Feel free to take pics, etc...just catch back up as we can't possibly stop for every time someone wants to stop for pics.
3. We will be done hiking around 8:30 pm Afterwards we may head to a local food/drink establishment in Manayunk.

Gear required: Sneakers are ok for this hike.

Weather: will reschedule if heavy rain or storms

Parking/Meetup spot: we will meet in the Cadence Cycling parking lot located at 3740 Main St. in Manayunk. We will meet at the opposite end. Look for a big metal raiload truss with a Manayunk sign in front of it. THERE ARE NOW TOWING SIGNS THROUGHOUT THE LOT. No one has had any issues, but use your own judgement. There is free parking in street in front of lot. Also street parking on the street near the Wissahickon train station. Simply walk through tunnel and down steps to the lot.

Guest policy: All attendees must join Outdoor Adventure Friends. IT IS FREE. This is for communication purposes and to ensure all attendees know EXACTLY what they signing up for. Only exception is if a friend or family member is visiting from out of town and you take full responsibility for them.
