Lehigh Gap West - 8 Mile - Figure 8 Hike - 1800ft of elevation gain - Moderate +

Join us for a FUN SCENIC HIKE as we ascend the AT for some spectacular views from atop the mountain then loop around on about six other trails winding our way back to our starting point with magnificent views of the Gap.

While moving we will be going quick (3 mph on flat & 2.5 mph on uphills and downhills). We will stop to take in some of the scenery, which should be very nice as views north into the Poconos should be starting to show some hints of fall color.

Note: This is not a beginner hike, while the pace is moderate and there will be some breaks, the terrain is somewhat advanced. The trail, typical for the AT in PA is very rocky with steep uphill and downhill sections with some gnarled tree roots thrown in for good measure. Hiking boots or trail runners are best. A hiking stick or two or a solid tree branch is recommended.

Bring at least two bottles of water, a snack and electrolyte/energy chews, etc. as you deem necessary as we'll be out for about four hours and will cover 8 miles with 1800ft of elevation gain.
