Have you ever approached Jim Thorpe from the south and wondered what it would be like to hike on the hills across from the downtown area? Well, now you can find out. We will meet at the high school and head up to a few viewpoints. I have not done this route before, but it looks good on the map....
We will move quickly with one stop for a brief lunch, but expect to move at 3-3.5mph. There is a large hill at the start.
If you have not hiked with me before, please note that this is NOT a beginner hike. If you cannot keep up in the first 2 miles, I will ask you to head back. If you have questions, please contact me.
We will leave on time.
What we will all need to bring:
1. Great attitude
2. Desire and ability to hike quickly on uneven terrain
3. Proper footwear- hiking boots or trail runners
4. Appropriate clothing for conditions: layers, wind and rain protection based upon forecast.
5. Water or other source of hydration/electrolytes; food/snacks
6. Hiking poles and backpacks as needed.
7. Sunscreen, bug spray and bear spray as desired
WEATHER: Heavy rain or storms will cancel and reschedule.

- All attendees must be members of Outdoor Adventure Friends. This is for communication purposes to ensure that those in attendance understand exactly what they are signing up for.
- Please be courteous and change your rsvp in a timely fashion if you can no longer attend an event. Repeated no shows or a history of signing up and dropping off excessively when there is a waitlist will exclude you from being moved off of future waitlists and special events
- I love dogs, but not on this hike.
