Birdsboro Bonanza- 9.5 mi with 2 rope climbs

DESCRIPTION:
The Birdsboro Reservoir/Preserve is known for it's scenic views and a variety of trails. Also known for some rock climbing....we will not be rock climbing, but there will be 2 climbs that are very steep and will need the aid of a rope. This will be a challenging hike when the climbs are factored in and NOT for beginners or those afraid of heights. This hike is designed for the more adventurous hiker.
Note: There is a bypass for the rope climbs and you will NOT have to participate in anything you do not feel comfortable with. Safety is always first!

We will move at a decent clip, but you will be able to enjoy scenery and hold a conversation. Expect brief stops at a few scenic spots and we will take a short snack break at some point.

GEAR REQUIRED:
1- Proper footwear- hiking boots or trail runners
2- Appropriate clothing for conditions: layers, wind and rain protection based upon forecast.
3- WATER or other source of hydration; food/snacks as needed and suggested for hikes over 8 miles
4- Electrolytes helpful
5- Hiking poles and backpacks as needed.
6- Microspikes if snow or ice present

1. Unless otherwise posted, all attendees must be members of Outdoor Adventure Friends. This is for communication purposes to ensure that those in attendance understand exactly what they are signing up for.
2. Please be courteous and change your rsvp in a timely fashion if you can no longer attend an event. Repeated no shows or a history of signing up and dropping off excessively when there is a waitlist will exclude you from being moved off of future waitlists and special events
