Winter's Ending Soon; 'I need to get back in shape for Hiking' Hike, Part 1 of 2
Details
We'll start out our 2026 Monday Evening Hiking Season on the Horsham Power-Line Trail. This will be a relatively easy 5 - 6 mile hike on mostly flat ground. We'll be moving at around 3 mph but will only have about 50 to 100ft of elevation change, so a nice easy way to start back into hiking.
Meeting Time is 5:15 so we have time for introductions before the Hike.
Sunset is 5:45 and the trail closes at sunset, so we will Start Hiking Promptly at 5:30 to get on the trail before it closes. We'll be walking through a neighborhood and a business park after sunset. If you are running late, message me before 5:20 so we can determine a place you can meet us. I cannot read or reply to messages once we start.
This hike will be mostly on a trail and sidewalks so it is OK to wear sneakers. Hiking boots or trail running shoes are OK too.
Definitely recommend hydrating before the hike and bring some water and a snack. We will make a few brief pauses to adjust layers and get a sip of water. Note: This is not a slow stroll, (3 mph is a quick, city walking pace), if you are off the pace, you will need to find the way back to the parking lot on your own.
I will check the trail conditions several days beforehand. This is still February after all, and the trail could have icy or snowy spots. It is also late February and we could have a run of several days in the 60's. I will report on trail conditions in the comments section. Adjust footwear and clothing according to conditions.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a static length leash at all times.
By signing up you accept responsibility for your own safety.
Next week's hike (Part 2 of 2) will build upon this one with more elevation.
