Winter's Ending Soon; 'I need to get back in shape for Hiking' Hike, Part 2 of 2
Details
This is the second hike in a series to help us build back our hiking strength to do the more intense hikes at Valley Forge. We will be doing a fun quick paced suburban hike on the streets (sidewalks) & hills of Roslyn, PA (Abington Township).
We'll get in about 5 miles and 400 + ft of elevation gain at a decent pace (apprx. 3.0-3.2 mph) Moderate level. There will be several quick pauses. This hike will have more Elevation than the previous week's rather flat hike to help get us back in shape. We're increasing the intensity level with each hike.
The next two hikes at Valley Forge, while only 90 minutes, will have more elevation than this one. As the sunset gets later the VF hikes will increase in distance, elevation and intensity.
Please try to be on time as a courtesy to the others. I can not respond to messages once we start. If running late send me a message before the start so we can determine a spot to meet you.
This hike will be on paved surfaces, so it is OK to wear sneakers or trail running shoes.
Definitely recommend hydrating before the hike and bring plenty of water and a snack.
Be prepared to walk faster than last week.
There are street lights, but you may want to bring a flashlight or headlamp as it will be getting dark before we end.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a static length leash at all times.
By signing up you accept responsibility for your own safety.
