Philly/Ben Franklin Bridge/Reading Terminal Scenic 9 mile adventure social hike

Coming out of the woods this weekend and hitting the streets of Philadelphia for a more social oriented hike. We will begin our adventure on Boat House Row and head to the Ben Franklin Bridge via the the streets of Fairmount . We will pass by the Eastern State Penitentiary as well as many other scenic views. After reaching the midway point on the bridge, we will head to Elfreths Alley. From here we will pass through many other hotspots including Betsy Ross House and Independence Hall before making our way to the Reading Teminal for lunch around 12:30pm. You will be on your own (or with some newly acquired friends) to chose what you want to eat within a 45 minute window. After lunch, we will continue our trek and pass through City Hall, Love Park and few other hot spots.

Although this is a "social" hike, we will keep things moving along with an average pace of about 3mph. So not a stroll, but not a sprint. Goal is to stick together, but you will be on your own if you can not keep up with the main group. There will be some stops to take photos. Note bathrooms at starting location, Independence Hall and Reading Terminal.

End time is best approximate.

GEAR REQUIRED:
1- Sneakers of for this hike.....all streets and sidewalks.
2- Appropriate clothing for conditions
3- WATER or other source of hydration; snacks as needed

MEETING LOCATION: We will be meeting at Lloyd Hall recreation center by the benches outside of the bathrooms. Free parking across the street on Sedgley St. DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN CAR OR ANYTHING IN SIGHT. DO NOT PARK IN LOT NEXT TO MEETING SPOT AS THAT IS TIMED PARKING (WON'T BE BACK IN TIME)

This is for communication purposes to ensure that those in attendance understand exactly what they are signing up for. Please be courteous and change your rsvp in a timely fashion if you can no longer attend an event. Repeated no shows or a history of signing up and dropping off excessively when there is a waitlist will exclude you from being moved off of future waitlists and special events.
