Description:
Located along Wilmington’s famous Brandywine Creek, Brandywine Creek State Park is a sprawling former country estate with a beautiful ecological heritage. The park encompasses 933 acres of rolling meadows, nature preserves, trails, and waterways.
We will wander through various trails, including the creekside trail. This will be another more relaxed paced summer time hike. BUT it is not a stroll. Pace will be about 3-3.2mph. We will keep a nice flow with quick regroup pauses and stops at various points of interest. Perhaps even a splash in the creek??

This hike is not best suited for true beginners( those with no previous hiking experience) or fast paced/hardcore hikers unless you are cool with a tampered vibe. This hike is a great opportunity for those who avoid our usual hardcore weekend hikes and are ok with pace listed above. This hike is specifically designed to get inactive members out and about.

Note: there is a fee listed/associated with this park. Not sure if it is for parking lot or to hike the park. Looking into it at time of posting.

GEAR REQUIRED:
1- Proper footwear- hiking boots or trail runners
2- Appropriate clothing for conditions: layers, wind and rain protection based upon forecast.
3- WATER or other source of hydration; food/snacks as needed

6- Sunscreen and bug spray as desired
