Lehigh Gap East or West "coin toss" rock adventure

Heads or tails? East or West? This little adventure puts fate in charge!

We're heading to the Lehigh Gorge for a 9-mile rock-hopping, ridge-walking, confidence-building adventure—but here's the twist: the final route won't be decided until hike day. We'll literally flip a coin to determine whether our group tackles the Lehigh East or Lehigh West trail. There are rock piles on each side in which we will hike to and play around on.

No matter which side wins, expect:

- 🪨 Plenty of rocky terrain that will keep your feet (and your brain) engaged.
- 🌲 Beautiful forest scenery with glimpses of the Lehigh Gorge.
- 💪 A solid workout with enough elevation and rugged footing to earn your post-hike meal.
- 😂 Great company, plenty of laughs, and the usual Outdoor Adventure Friends camaraderie.

This is a hike for those who enjoy a little challenge and don't mind getting their boots scuffed up!

Distance: 9 miles
Difficulty: Moderate to Moderately Strenuous (rocky terrain)
Expect a pace, around 3.ish on flats, Slower. but steady on climbs and safety first on the scrambles. We keep moving, but ok with few quick stops for pics at scenic areas. Also some "pauses" at top of climbs to regroup. Because of distance and difficulty, we will have a break to refuel/eat lunch.

GEAR REQUIRED: hiking footwear as there will be plenty of rocks, roots and slippery conditions. Food, water and electrolytes as needed.
