The Sandstone Trail runs for 34 miles along Cheshire's central sandstone ridge between Whitchurch and Frodsham. This 10.5 mile section follows the Llangollen Canal from Whitchurch to Willeymoor Lock. Field paths then lead us to the isolated Old St Chad's Chapel. Further field paths lead us to Bickerton Hill and Maiden Castle. Meeting at Bickerton Hill car park, car share half the cars to the start point at Sherrymill Hill car park, Whitchurch. Car share remaining cars at the end of the walk back to the start. Dogs welcome. Please bring food/drinks.

This 12 mile section visits Bickerton Hill, Raw Head (highest point on the Sandstone Trail), Bulkeley Hill, Peckforton Hills and Beeston Castle. Meeting at Willington Road lay-by, car share half the cars to the start point at Bickerton Hill car park. Car share remaining cars at the end of the walk back to the start. Dogs welcome. Please bring food/drinks.
