Mallow Flower Paddle on the Maurice River

The Hibiscus swamp mallow is in bloom with many variations of color. We will meet at Maurice river parking lot and launch on W Weymouth rd, across from Willow Grove Lake. Unload our kayaks. One volunteer person will stay with the Kayaks while we drive our Vehicles to West Side Park on Almond rd and shuttle back to our launch. Note (the shuttle is not part of the OCSJ activity, getting into cars with others is at your own risk.) This is a 6-mile paddle. PFD must be worn while on the water also closed toe shoes, no flip* flops. Tree blow downs are sometimes an issue on smaller rivers. No Canoes and kayaks to be 12 foot or less, you need to get low into your boat to duck under some fallen trees.
Bring drinking water lunch or snack, hat, sun and bug protection.
