Cedar Creek Paddle -- Let's enjoy what the rains have given us.

Details
Notice the 10:00 AM start time! Join us on this trip down the Cedar Creek. Meet at Double Trouble parking lot, and then we will put in at Ore Pond Canoe Launch. This is a quiet and narrow river with a slow current, with serpentine twists and turns that offer challenging paddling. There is one dam portage, which experienced paddlers will help with, and which is not hard. This is a good trip for all paddlers.
Aside from a few small sandy beaches where you might see a few swimmers, the river is shrouded in woods and goes under three or four small bridges, as well as a highway overpass. There is beautiful scenery. We will be stopping along the way for lunch per groups’ preferences. We will be paddling to Dudley Park.
REQUIREMENTS:
- water
- sunscreen/bug spray
- hat
- lunch
- pfd (life jacket) -- this is mandatory!
- change of clothes
Please be on time. We will leave Double Trouble promptly at 10:00 and go to the put in at Ore Pond. Once we drop off gear we will then go to Dudley Park off Route 9 (take out) and drop cars. We'll then shuttle back to the put in.
(Note, if you want to go directly to Ore Pond, just send me a text that you meet the group there)
OCSJ Guidelines include:
- Paid members are given priority. Guests can come for their first trip, but may be bumped to the waiting list. You will receive an email if that is the case.
- Shuttle will be organized among participants, but it is important to note that is not part of the club activity. Getting into a vehicle with other people is a personal choice!
- If you have RSVP’d to attend and cannot, please be courteous and cancel so others can attend. Do this at least 24 hours before activity start time.
